Hello there, It’s been a little while, and I’m glad to be back in touch. As we look ahead to Responsive Conference 2026, our focus is sharpening around a central question:
Roles feel increasingly less defined, and the path forward isn't clear. Throughout the year, we’ll be exploring how jobs are evolving, and how people and organizations are responding. We’re interested in what helps individuals stay useful and grounded in moments of uncertainty, and what helps organizations remain flexible without losing their sense of purpose. In the meantime, there’s a lot happening in the near future, and we’re looking forward to reconnecting with many of you along the way. We'll be at:
Most importantly, we’re hosting something new and especially meaningful to us... Introducing SnafuMarch 5 · Oakland Museum of CaliforniaIf Responsive has focused on building resilient organizations, Snafu is about building resilient people – especially those whose work now requires influence, persuasion, and sales. The Snafu Conference is a one-day summit for people navigating change inside their roles, their careers, and their organizations. It’s a chance to step back and look more closely at how work actually moves: how ideas gain traction, how decisions get made, and how momentum is built in uncertain conditions. The day centers on a small set of skills that quietly shape those outcomes – persuasion, influence, and non-sales selling. These skills are often present in our work without being clearly named, taught, or examined. We’ll spend time exploring how these capabilities show up in everyday situations, how people develop them without losing their integrity, and how they support clearer communication, sound judgment, and steadier confidence at work. For members of the Responsive community and past conference attendees, we’re offering an early bird ticket of $300. 👉 Register here: www.joinsnafu.com and secure your spot All of our speakers and the full agenda are live. We’ve also put together a short video that gives a sense of the event and why it matters now: More soon – and thank you, as always, for being part of the Responsive community. Warmly, |

Howdy folks - For the tenth anniversary of Responsive Conference, we’ve decided to do something different. The team has just attended Suzy Welch's Convening on Purpose and Flourishing in the Age of AI at NYU Stern, followed by an incredible week at Transform in Las Vegas. There’s a lot of conversation right now about job displacement and the changing nature of work. For a decade, we’ve said predictability is decreasing. This year, it feels like it’s gone. If you listen to AI nihilists, AGI is...
Hello, By now, you’ve seen the news coming out of Minneapolis – and elsewhere – about the use of force by ICE. It’s disturbing, unconstitutional, and not something we can just scroll by and ignore. The question becomes: What does it mean to act together? How do we participate, even when there are differences of opinion and no single clear path forward? Tomorrow, January 30, a 24-hour National Shutdown is taking place in the United States. The idea is simple: If you’re able to stay home from...
Hi folks, It’s been eight weeks since Responsive Conference 2025. The world continues to be chaotic, but our Responsive peers keep up the good work — adapting, connecting, and leading through change. Work in Progress – A Report Virginie Raphael and her team at Work in Progress have just released the Work in Progress report, a free report from Responsive Conference 2025. This is a beautifully designed paper, which contains reflections from Responsive speakers and attendees about work and how...
